ASU Announces Summer 2022 Compressed Workweek Schedule
Albany State University will observe a compressed workweek schedule for summer 2022. This schedule will allow ASU employees to work 40 hours in less than five workdays in a single workweek. This includes exempt and nonexempt employees. Under this compressed workweek, an employee will work 10 hours each day for a four-day workweek.
Effective May 9, 2022 through July 29, 2022, the work schedule will be Monday through Thursday from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with the following exceptions:
- Week of Monday, May 30 - Friday, June 3 (Tuesday, May 31 – Friday June 3; 8-hour days)
- Week of Monday, June 20 - Friday, June 24 (Tuesday, June 21 – Friday, June 24; 8-hour days)
- Week of Monday, July 4 – Friday July 8 (Tuesday, July 5 – Friday July 8; 8-hour days)
Employees are encouraged to take a minimum of 30 minutes for a lunch break. Employees can deviate from this time frame if work is completed within a 10-hour day with a start time between 7:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m. Advanced approval is required by the responsible Cabinet member for any deviations from this schedule.
The university will be closed on Friday. Exceptions include departments that may be required to work an alternate schedule as approved by the responsible Cabinet member.
The compressed workweek schedule supports the efficiency of university operations, employee morale, and offers employees greater flexibility in their work schedule.
ASU employees must continue to maintain an acceptable quality and quantity of work.
