ASU Golden Rams to host NCAA Division II Playoffs after Undefeated SIAC Season
Albany State University (ASU) is the number four seed with the University of West Georgia (UWG) following at number five in the Super Region 2 bracket. The Albany State University (ASU) Golden Rams are set to host the 2021 NCAA Division II Football Playoff game against the University of West Georgia (UWG) Wolves. Kickoff on Saturday, November 20 is scheduled for 1 p.m., at the ASU Coliseum.
ASU is excited to have the opportunity to host the NCAA playoff. This is a great time for the campus community, alumni and supporters to come together after a stellar season.
The Golden Rams are the 2021 SIAC Eastern Division Champions with an undefeated season in SIAC play, and seven unscored upon games this season.
The team has worked hard from pre-season to the SIAC championship game last week, and the work doesn’t stop now. There is excitement in the air, and the team is ready to take to the field again.
The Golden Rams have not hosted a championship game since 2010. The event is expected to generate an additional economic impact for the City of Albany, where several thousand fans are expected to attend the highly anticipated event.
General admission is $25 and can be purchased online, here. Other ticket prices are $75 for reserved chair backs seating (purchased online), $10 youth admission (kindergarten through 12th grade) and $5 for ASU and UWG students with valid ID. Youth and student tickets must be purchased in-person on gameday.
