Albany State University Receives $17,000 Donation from University System of Georgia Foundation

Albany State University (ASU) received a significant scholarship award from the University System of Georgia Foundation (USGF). This scholarship, totaling $17,150, aims to assist students with financial needs for the 2023-24 academic year.

To qualify, students must demonstrate unmet financial needs determined by the institution and maintain good academic standing. This donation is made possible by Former Georgia Senator Kelly Loeffler, Chairman of the New York Stock Exchange, Jeff Sprecher, and the University System of Georgia Foundation (USGF). The award aims to ease the financial burden for deserving students.
The funds were raised during the 19th Annual Regents Scholarship Gala, attended by prominent guests, including Governor Brian Kemp and First Lady Kemp. USG Chancellor Sonny Perdue highlighted the impact of education, emphasizing its role in boosting earnings and shaping futures.
This scholarship award represents a commitment to student success at Albany State University. It ensures that all students can have the opportunity to pursue their educational goals without the typical financial burdens.
