| Dr. Sherryl Johnson, Professor of Healthcare Management | 
Dr. Sherryl W. Johnson is a Professor at Albany State University in the School of Business-where she teaches undergraduate courses in the Management: Healthcare Administration Program and graduate courses in the Master of Business Administration Program: Healthcare Management Concentration. In addition to employment at Albany State University, Dr. Johnson has worked in other governmental, education and healthcare settings – such as the U.S. Centers for Disease Control, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Morris Brown College, and Health South. She is a graduate of Emory University (MPH) and Clark-Atlanta University (MSW, Ph.D). Dr. Johnson’s publications span a variety of health promotion topics. | Professor Aaron Johnson,
Assistant Professor of Management |
Professor Aaron Johnson has served as an Assistant Professor of Economics at Albany
State University since 2007, including his time at Darton State College prior to its
consolidation with Albany State. He holds an M.A in Economics from the University
of Missouri-St. Louis and is currently a doctoral candidate in Curriculum and Instruction,
Higher Education Administration Track, at Columbus State University.
Before his academic career, Professor Johnson gained seven years of professional experience
in banking and finance, working at the Office of Comptroller of Currency, AT&T (formerly
Southwestern Bell), and Edward Jones.
A dedicated servant leader, Professor Johnson has been twice appointed as a Faculty
Fellow at Albany State University (2018 and 2021). He has also served in various leadership
roles within the School of Business committees and Faculty Senate.
Professor Johnson is actively involved in his community, serving with distinction
in various capacities. Currently, he holds the positions of Vice-Chair of the Albany/Dougherty
Planning Commission and Vice-Chair of the Dougherty Area Regional Transportation Study
(DARTS) Committee.

| Dr. Kathaleena Monds,
Professor of Management Information Systems & Entrepreneurship |
Dr. Kathaleena Monds is a professor of Management Information Systems and Entrepreneurship at Albany State University. A native of Detroit, Michigan, Belize descendant, and first-generation college graduate, Kathaleena holds a Ph.D. in Instructional Technology (with a concentration in End-User Computing) from Wayne State University, a M.A. in Economics and Entrepreneurship for Educators from University of Delaware, a M.S. in Computer Science from Wayne State University, and a B.S. in Computer Science from Spelman College. Her research interests include design thinking, Black homeschooling, and mentoring students in STEM. She home-birthed, homeschooled four children K-12, has completed two Marathons, sailed the Nile, hiked the Andes, skied the Alps, and tangoed in Argentina. While Dr. Monds is uncomfortable flying, she has traveled to 6 of 7 Continents, except Antarctica, including - Egypt; Switzerland; Italy; France; Spain; Taiwan; Hong Kong; China; Singapore; Malaysia; Belize; Guatemala; Mexico; Bahamas, Canada; Brazil; Chile; Argentina; Australia - and her first airplane ride did not take place until after she graduated from Spelman College. Professor of Economics |
Dr. Amaechi Nwaokoro is a professor of economics at Albany State University. His areas of scholarly expertise are Labor Economics, Applied Microeconomics, and Economic Development. He teaches Principles of Microeconomics,Economics and Business Statistics, and Money and Banking where he emphasizes applications to bonds and stocks. | Dr. Edwin Nyamwala, Assistant Professor of Marketing | 
Dr. Edwin Nyamwala is an Assistant Professor of Marketing at Albany State University with a wealth of experience in higher education. With a Doctor of Business Administration (D.B.A.) degree specializing in Marketing and International Business from Northcentral university, Edwin brings a deep understanding of marketing principles and practices to his teaching. Throughout his career, Edwin has demonstrated a commitment to excellence in education. Prior to his current role, he spent seven years as a dedicated Faculty member of Shorter University in Rome, Georgia. There, he fostered a student-centered, experiential learning approach in his marketing courses, preparing students for success in the ever-evolving field of marketing. Edwin's expertise extends beyond classroom. he has actively engaged with local, regional, national, and international business, nonprofit, government, and community representatives to create applied service-learning projects and study opportunities for his students. Edwin's commitment to professional growth is evident through his pursuit of a Professional Certificate in Google Data Analytics from Coursera. This reflects his dedication to staying current with industry trends and technological advancements. | Dr. Abiodun Ojemakinde,
Professor of Economics |
He is an author and co-author of many refereed journal articles in Economics, and he holds memberships in professional associations in Economics. His research interest is in applied economics. He successfully completed the Institute for Educational Management at Harvard University. As a Nissan-HBCU Fellow, he completed a postdoctoral training in Business Finance at The University of Chicago Graduate School of Business. He earned his Ph.D. and Master of Science degrees from Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge, Louisiana, USA, and his Bachelor of Science degree from The University of Ife, Nigeria. | Dr. Edgars Patani,
Assistant Professor of Accounting |
Dr. Edgar Patani an Assistant Professor of Accounting at Albany State University since August 2023, has been involved with higher education for over twenty years. Prior to joining Albany University, he was employed with Talladega College from 2018 to 2023 holding various academic positions, including the Dean of the Division of Lifelong Learning and Professional development. As the Dean he supervised all academic and administrative functions of all programs within this Division. This includes the Division’s flagship programs, Fast Track and Second Chance Pell. He also served as the Acting Associate Vice-President for Academic Affairs from 2021 to 2022. In this role he was responsible for assisting the Provost/Executive Vice President/Vice President for Academic Affairs in overseeing academic policy and procedures, establishing standards for the quality of the academic programs, and maintaining educational excellence. This included responsibility in assisting with recruiting, hiring, retention, and evaluation of performance of faculty and academic administrators in regards to teaching, promotion and the tenure process among other assigned duties. He also served as Chair and Assistant professor of Accounting and Finance for Talladega College. Associate Professor of Management |
Additionally, she is an Anchor (university college) faculty fellow and prefers to teach lower-level classes where she gets to interact with freshman and sophomore students in both the on-campus and online setting. Dr Sweet and her husband have two rescue pups, Roxy and Radar, who are excessively spoiled. Dr. Sweet also enjoys traveling, reading, crafting, and spending time with family. | Dr. Nadeepa Wickramage,
Assistant Professor of Supply Chain & Logistics Management |
Dr. Wickramage earned his PhD in Industrial Engineering from Clemson University, SC and BSc. Engineering (Hons) from University of Moratuwa. His research interests mainly focus on effective teaching methods and Logistics and Supply Chain Management. More specifically, using transparency in teaching for effective teaching, using artificial-intelligence assisted teaching, time-based operations in facilities, warehouse routing and design, intermodal transportation networks, and humanitarian logistics.In addition, he is also interested in process optimization. | Dr. Tomeika Williams,
Assistant Professor of Accounting |
 Dr. Tomeika Williams is an Assistant Professor of Accounting at Albany State University
and a proud first-generation college graduate from Atlanta, Georgia. She holds an
Associate's, Bachelor's, Master's, and Ph.D. in Accounting. From 2005 to 2014, she
built a robust career in private accounting, serving in various roles such as Staff
Accountant, Consultant, and Accounting Manager for small to medium-sized businesses
across diverse industries including real estate, distribution, market research, insurance,
and telecommunications.Dr. Williams' research interests focus on financial fraud and forensics, tax, corporate
governance, behavioral accounting, and auditing. After earning her Master's degree
in 2010, she embarked on her teaching career as an adjunct accounting instructor,
where she has spent over a decade contributing significantly to teaching, curriculum
development, and instructional design in areas like accounting, business management,
and corporate finance.
In 2015, Dr. Williams published her first accounting textbook for business majors.
She is currently working on an accounting ethics textbook, expected to be published
in 2026. Her scholarly work includes a 2017 article in the Springer Series for Corporate
Sustainability and Governance on corporate governance and fraud in the precious metals
industry, as well as a 2019 tax advice article published in the Detroit Premier Journal.
Dr. Williams is an active participant in regional and local accounting conferences,
including those organized by the American Accounting Association (AAA) and the Georgia
Society of CPAs.

| Dr. Victor Williams,
Assistant Professor of Management Information Systems |
Dr. Williams held the position of Dean of the School of Business for over two years at AIU. In addition, he held the position of Chair for the Department of Business for over six years at Argosy University. Dr. Williams holds a Ph.D. in Information Systems from Nova Southeastern University. He has a Master of Science in Human Resources Management with a concentration in Organizational Behavior from Golden Gate University. Dr. Devi Akella is the Chair and a professor of management at the School of Business,
Albany State University, GA where she teaches Organizational Behavior and Human Resources
Management at the undergraduate and graduate levels. She completed her PhD in Organizational
Behavior and MBA from the University of Leeds, UK. She is also a Senior Certified
Professional (SCP) with the Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM). Dr. Akella
is a proficient researcher in the area of critical management studies and has published
numerous journal papers, books, and presented papers at national and international
conferences.
Dr. Anthony Nikias is an Assistant Professor of Accounting in the School of Business
at Albany State University where he teaches undergraduate courses and graduate courses
in the Master’s of Business Administration program. In addition to Albany State University,
he has previously taught at Universities in New York and Texas and earned his Ph.D.
degree from the Ohio State University. Dr. Nikias teaches courses in financial and
managerial accounting, in addition to other areas of accounting.
Dr. Abiodun Ojemakinde is a Professor of Business Administration at Albany State University.
In addition to his academic responsibilities, Dr. Abiodun Ojemakinde has served Albany
State University in major administrative capacities, including, Provost & Vice President
for Academic Affairs (2014-2016), Vice President for Academic Affairs (2007-2012),
College of Business Dean (2000-2007), and Business Administration Department Chair
(1998-2000).
Dr. Corrine Sweet, has been teaching at Albany State University since 2004. She has
degrees in information systems (B.S.B.A.), business administration (M.B.A.), instructional
technology (Ed.S.), and adult and career education (Ed.D.). She teaches business classes
including Communicating in the Business Environment and Introduction to Business. 
Dr. Nadeepa Wickramage is an Assistant Professor in Supply Chain and Logistics Management
at Albany State University, where he teaches quantitative analysis and supply chain
management courses, including Management Science, Project Management, Warehouse Management,
and Logistics Information Systems.
Dr. Victor Williams is an Assistant Professor of Management Information Systems at
Albany State University in the School of Business. Dr. Williams has worked or taught
in the field of Information Systems for over forty years. He has worked as a Deputy
CIO, IT Department Director, Computer Programmer, Network Administrator, and Senior
Project Manager.
