ASU'S Graham accepted to NCAA coaches academy

INDIANAPOLIS- Verniece Graham, an assistant coach for the Albany State University volleyball team, has been selected
to attend the NCAA Women Coaches Academy.
The NCAA Office of Inclusion will provide the scholarship for the WCA which will take
place November 29-December 2 in Englewood, CO.
Graham, who is in her seventh season as an assistant volleyball coach for the Lady
Golden Rams, is one of three women of color from an HBCU institution to receive a
scholarship to this edition of the Coaches Academy. The scholarship covers tuition
for the Academy, membership for one year in the Alliance of Women Coaches and airfare.
The Academy is for women coaches of NCAA-sponsored sports (or emerging-sports) at
NCAA Division I, II, or III member institutions. Since the first WCA session in 2003,
forty-two Academies have taken place, producing more than 1,650 graduates. Coach Graham
is a 2008 graduate of Albany State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Health Physical
Education and Recreation.
