RECOMMENDED COURSES FOR
CERTIFICATE PROGRAM
The Paramedic is an Health Science professional whose primary focus is to provide
advanced emergency medical care for critical and emergent patients. The Paramedic’s
scope of practice includes invasive and pharmacological interventions to reduce the
morbidity and mortality associated with acute out-of-hospital medical and traumatic
emergencies. Paramedic education represents the highest level of out-of-hospital care.
Graduates of the Paramedic Certificate Program are encouraged to take the additional
prescribed college courses in order to complete the Associate of Science degree in
Emergency Medical Services.
