The Deans Council unites the deans of Albany State University's colleges under the leadership of the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs to advance the University's academic mission. Through collaborative planning and shared decision-making, the Council aligns college priorities with institutional goals, champions academic quality and curricular innovation, and upholds the standards of accreditation and faculty excellence that define ASU as Georgia's largest public HBCU—ensuring that the University's academic enterprise remains responsive, forward-looking, and grounded in its mission to educate and empower the next generation of leaders.

The Council reviews and recommends academic policy, coordinates program development and curricular changes, plans for resources and enrollment across colleges, oversees accreditation and assessment, and addresses faculty affairs matters. The Deans Council meets biweekly.
